Newcastle United Football Club


Newcastle United Football Club is an English professional association football club. The club was founded in 1892, by the Newcastle East End and Newcastle West End. It has played its matches at current home ground. The club has been a member of the Premier League from the start of this club and never dropped below the English football's second tier, since joining the Football League in 1893. They have won four League Championship titles and six FA Cups, as well as the 1969 Inter-Cities Fairs Cup and the 2006 UEFA Cup. Newcastle also won the 1909 Charity Shield and the 1968–69 Inter-Cities Fairs Cup have been FA Cup runners-up seven times and League Cup runners-up once in 1976.

Newcastle United has the eighth highest total of major honors won by an English club’s. The club's most successful period was between 1904 and 1910, when they won an FA Cup and three of their First Division titles. They have a fierce local rivalry with Sunderland, and the two clubs have engaged in the Tyne Wear derby since 1898. The club's traditional kit colors are black and white striped shirts, black shorts and black socks.



Newcastle are England's equal eighth most successful club of all time, four times League champions in 1905, 1907, 1909 and 1927 and six times FA Cup winners in 1910, 1924,1932, 1951, 1952, and 1955. Newcastle have played in England's top league from 1898-1935, 1948-61, 1965-78, 1984-89, 1993-2009 and since 2010, playing in the second flight at all times.
